"Umbral" is a first-person game with elements of horror, exploration, and puzzles. "Umbral" tells the story of a young adult frustrated with life who, after various personal problems, decides to commit suicide. However, to his misfortune, his existence doesn't end there. After committing the terrible act against himself, he finds himself in a place called Umbral, where he has to deal with an even worse reality.
The story of "Umbral" is based on elements of Kardecist Spiritism and some from Umbanda. The game explores what the spirit can find on the "other side," while questioning why he didn't truly die after committing the worst possible sin against himself. The player will encounter various horrendous situations in a frightening and hostile place. They will quickly realize that there are even more cruelties there than in the world they left behind.
