Liberation is an adventure space sim inspired by science fiction classics of the 20th Century such as Blake's 7, The Tripods, Space:1999, Star Cops, Max Headroom, 2000 AD and the original BBC Micro version of Elite.
Framed for a crime you did not commit, you pilot a stolen stealth ship and must fight back against GalFed, the Galactic Federation that rules humanity through violence, mood suppressants and all-round meanness.
Liberation is an action space combat sim stripped back to its core. Less trading, tighter combat, more story, and a rich lore-filled universe. It takes place within GalFed, a living breathing empire where thinking machines are banned (computers are restricted to the power of a 1990s Amiga), the rich and powerful amuse themselves with space yachts and galactic games, and regular citizens are treated like cattle.
